Countertops
Since we're on a kitchen kick...
Here's the laminate I picked out for the countertops. I dig the cabinet faces too... but I'd rather have white than birch.

Just a random observation about your blog -- the graphics on Christiane's last few posts ("Countertops" and "Green") do not show up in the Safari browser for the Mac. They do show up just fine when looking at the entries through the archive template (for example, I can see the countertop picture right now as I'm typing this comment).
I tried looking at the source code to see if it was obvious why it was happening, and it's not. The only common thing seems to be that the images that are not appearing are in the directory "/erwinhouse/images/", as opposed to "/erwinhouse/archive/" on Mike's last few entries.
Everything looks fine in Firefox for the Mac, so this is something peculiar to Safari, apparently.
Anyways, just thought you might like to know -- your blog is very enjoyable. I found it from your invitation to the open house next week. My wife and I are going to try to attend, as we are considering a Brentwood remodel/addition soon.
Thanks,
Paul

Thanks, Paul. Funny we were just talking about the properties on the image tags last night. (What geeks!) She has been putting % tags into the width and height, which allow us to upload big images that don't break the layont in the main page, and look bigger in the individual page for the post. But they are non-standard, so I'm sure Safari doesn't like them.
Looking forward to meeting y'all next week!

I noticed the percentage image attributes. The other issue could be that your main page and comments page use different doctypes -- HTML 4.01 transitional on the main page and XHTML 1.0 transitional on the comments page. If you changed the doctype on the main page to XHTML 1.0 transitional, it might fix the problem, since the images display correctly on the comments page.
The HTML 4.01 transitional doctype on the main page is also missing part of the doctype statement -- you might try fixing that. Check the definitive doctypes at http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/valid-dtd-list.html.
Then again, changing any of this could break something else!
Cheers!

Paul, I noticed IE was having a hard time with the images also. I updated the image tags with set sizes instead of percentages. Let me know if Safari is still barfing. Our PowerBook is in a box, ready to hit Craigslist, so I am unable to test on the Mac :)
Thanks, and I hope we see you Tuesday!
